Declaration
property ScrollBars: TScrollStyle;
Description
The ScrollBars property controls whether a TPlusMemo or TDBPlusMemo has any scroll bars. It is equivalent to the similarly named property of Delphi's native TMemo. You can set ScrollBars to any of the following values:
Value Meaning
No scroll bar Puts a scroll bar on the right edge Puts a scroll bar on the bottom edge Puts a scroll bar on both the right and bottom edges
ssNone
ssVertical
ssHorizontal
ssBoth
The default value is ssNone. It is available at design time and run time, with read and write access.
Property Options also controls the appearance of scroll bars, by way of its pmoAutoScrollBars member. If pmoAutoScrollBars is set, scroll bars will not necessarily appear even if property ScrollBars specifies ssHorizontal, ssVertical or ssBoth. Note, however, that a scroll bar that is not specified as visible by property ScrollBars will never appear even with pmoAutoScrollBars set.
Whenever you assign a value to ScrollBars such that a vertical scrollbar appears or disappears, a reformatting of the text will occur if WordWrap is True or Alignment is taRightJustify or taCenter. Such reformatting will trigger OnProgress events at regular intervals.
It must be noted that TScrollStyle is an enumerated type defined in VCL unit StdCtrls. You may need to add unit StdCtrls to your uses clause in order to change the value of ScrollBars from your application code.
